Emerging markets

Emerging Markets is a project that is located in the market area of Aguascalientes, Mexico as part of a contest of architectural ideas.

The market is, then, a unique cultural meeting point in the urban area, converging in symbiosis the countryside and the city, the rural and the urban. Therefore, the city is visualized as a hard and artificial layer superimposed on a subjugated natural layer. As an objective of the intervention, it is to propose a biopsy to the urban layer and expose to the surface that natural layer lost in the urban mass.

The proposal is then to alter the established, programmatically destroy it and configure a new way of reading for the city: new forms of circulation, new open spaces, a new market, where the inhabitant can travel through this lost natural layer.

The city is a stratum, a dermis from which it is necessary to dissect to expose layers within it. Intervene the territory detected as urban mass so that this is the raw material.

Nothing is built. The existing is intervened.
